Best of the Best: Part III

Points of View: Dream Teammates

In the third of an ongoing series leading up to the season, WNBA players go around the league and call out the best in the business. From scorers to shooters to creative passers, we get to the heart of the matter to answer some big questions. In this edition, we look at players' dream teammates. From past and present players to WNBA, NBA greats and Hall-of-Famers, we asked some of today's best who they would love to get the chance to play alongside of.

Tamika Catchings, Indiana Fever
"I would to have played with Lynette Woodard, just seeing her now and talking to her and knowing what kind of person and what kind of player she was, I think I would have grown as a player being under her wing and just being able to watch her, and that's my thing I always want to learn the game and become a better player, and just knowing her, I wish I had that opportunity."

Helen Darling, Charlotte Sting
"I would love to play with Tina Thompson. She is such a great competitor. And if I could have one wish, it would be to play with my old Cleveland Rockers teammates one more time. Getting Chasity Melvin, Penny Taylor, Merlakia Jones, Rushia Brown, Betty Lennox, Deanna Jackson and LaToya Thomas back together again would be fun."

Kristin Haynie, Sacramento Monarchs
"I would love to play with Sheryl Swoopes and Tamika Catchings. I love watching them play."

Niele Ivey, Phoenix Mercury
"Tamika Catchings is definitely one, and Deanna Nolan. I played with her in Detroit for a little bit. Those two are my favorite because besides the fact that they are great, they're good teammates."

Betty Lennox, Seattle Storm
"I would love to play with Yolanda Griffith and with Cheryl Ford. She does not play the same as she did when we were in college together at Louisiana Tech. To see her develop has been amazing. I would also love to play with Deanna Nolan because she is so talented."

Lisa Leslie, Los Angeles Sparks
"It's very difficult because I've gotten to play with so many great players with our USA Basketball teams. But if I'm around, it might be nice to play with Candace Parker or Seimone Augustus, that younger generation that plays a fast game. It would be fun to play with and against them."

Kristen Mann, Minnesota Lynx
"Lauren Jackson and Sue Bird would be fun to play with. I would also love to play with Tamika Catchings."

Nikki McCray, free agent
"Key players that I haven't played with: Sue Bird would be my point guard, Lauren Jackson would be my center. Deanna Nolan as my two-guard, I've never played with Taj McWilliams-Franklin, so she'd be in my frontcourt."

Kelly Miller, Phoenix Mercury
"I would have loved to play with Cynthia Cooper and Sheryl Swoopes and been a part of that great group of players - those early legends of the game."

Ruth Riley, Detroit Shock
"Of all the players, I'd say Catch. Tamika Catchings, I mean, I've had the opportunity on the Olympic and National teams, but she brings so much to the floor I think that would be a lot of fun."

Katie Smith, Detroit Shock
"Yolanda Griffith, Diana Taurasi, Sheryl Swoopes, Dawn Staley, Sue Bird and Teresa Edwards. All of my USA Basketball teammates."

Tina Thompson, Houston Comets
"I would have loved to have been apart of the Los Angeles Lakers teams of the 80's, strictly "Showtime." Are you kidding me! I am super competitive but I would have rode that bench and been glad about it. Although I couldn't stand the Celtics or Pistons at that time, they were pretty good times as well, so their a distant second and third, but awesome in their own right, you can't fight Larry and Isiah, but in my book, they're no Earvin and James. LOL, that was basketball at it's best!"

Kendra Wecker, San Antonio Silver Stars
"I would love to play with an unbelievable point guard like Becky Hammon or Lindsay Whalen or Sue Bird. There are several elite guards so to play with one of them would be cool."
