What It Meant To Be An All-Star
Yolanda Griffith, Sacramento Monarchs: "I think to get voted in by the fans is a great honor, especially to be able to represent the Sacramento Monarchs and to have our coaching staff there because we won the championship in 2005. Overall itís a great honor just to be voted again. This could be my last All-Star Game, I donít know."

Becky Hammon, New York Liberty: "Itís a big honor just to be an All-Star even though I was injured and partake in all the festivities. Itís very humbling in the same breath, too, because people took time to get online and fill out ballots for you. So itís nice to be on people's minds and itís nice to know that they wanted to see me out there, so itís a lot of responsibility with that. Itís always good to be loved."
Alana Beard, Washington Mystics: "Itís simply an honor because once an All-Star, always an All-Star. Your name is going down in history. Your name is going down in history with people like Cynthia Cooper, Lisa Leslie, Dawn Staley, Teresa Edwards, those people who have been Olympians and have done anything there is possibly to do in their careers. And to be a part of that is a great feeling."
Katie Douglas, Connecticut Sun: ďIt means a lot. Iíve been working really hard the past six years, Iíve been overseas for four years working on my game just to come back over to the States and show my improvement. It meant a lot to be honored amongst the best.Ē
Candice Dupree, Chicago Sky: ďI think I was just more excited than anything. I was actually at home in Florida when they called me and told me to get to New York. I was there for about a day and I had to fly back up there so everything was just kind of a frenzy, but it was fun. There was a lot of fun and excitement. I hadn't had the opportunity to meet a lot of these players until then, and they are great people.Ē
Lindsay Whalen, Connecticut Sun: ďItís awesome. Itís a huge honor. I just tried to represent the fans and give them a reason why they voted me in. I had fun with it as well.Ē
Tamika Whitmore, Indiana Fever: ďIt makes me feel appreciated like the work that Iíve put in and the time is really worth it.Ē
Sophia Young, San Antonio Silver Stars: ďI really feel privileged and blessed to have had such an opportunity. I think playing with and alongside the best players in the country and to be considered one of them is really awesome.Ē
