Kaity Douglas Diary:Ch. 2
As for the on-court life and my basketball ventures, things have been up and down. Our team is doing well in the FIBA competition as we are now 4-0 with two games remaining in the first round. We have already clinched the qualification round for the sixteen best teams. We leave tomorrow to go to Turkey. This will be an interesting trip because we fly to a Greek island, which will be a first for me, and then take a boat over to Turkey.
In the Greek league, we have been inconsistent. Currently we are second in the league with a record of 4-2. On Sunday, our coach resigned and the team has hired my coach from last year's team. Hopefully, we can move in a positive direction in both competitions and be more consistent.
Other than that, I am busy taking Greek lessons twice a week in order to be able to communicate better with the people here. It is quite an experience learning another language. Especially Greek, which is extremely complicated. I am hoping that by the time I return to Connecticut, I will be more competent in at least speaking the language.
Well, that is all for now. I have to go get ready to leave the country for the week.
