CPTV & CPTV Sports Simulcast Four Upcoming Games for WNBA’s Connecticut Sun

HARTFORD Conn. (August 21, 2012) – Connecticut Public Television (CPTV) and CPTV Sports are simulcasting four upcoming games for the WNBA’s Connecticut Sun.

The games being broadcast on CPTV and CPTV Sports include:

  • Sunday, August 26 at 5 p.m., Chicago Sky at Connecticut Sun
  • Sunday, September 2 at 3 p.m., Connecticut Sun at Atlanta Dream
  • Friday, September 7 at 7 p.m., Phoenix Mercury at Connecticut Sun
  • Sunday, September 23 at 5 p.m., Atlanta Dream at Connecticut Sun

    While CPTV Sports – the state’s only 24-hour local sports channel – has broadcast 13 Sun games so far this summer, this is the first time both networks have televised the games as a simulcast. For the home games held in Mohegan Sun Arena, Bob Heussler will provide broadcast play-by-play and color commentary will be handled on a revolving basis by Kara Wolters, Rebecca Lobo and Jen Rizzotti.

    CPTV Sports is available on Comcast cable channels 185, 187 and 744; Cox Communications cable channel 805; Cablevision channel 139; Charter Northeastern channel 223; Charter Western channel 224, Thames Valley channel 87 and MetroCast Channel 418. The channel is also available digitally over the air at channels 24.3 (Hartford), 49.3 (Bridgeport), 53.3 (Norwich) and 65.3 (New Haven).
