Seattle Storm Adds to Roster

SEATTLE - The Seattle Storm announced today that it has added point guard Sharnee Zoll to its roster, effective Monday, May 23, 2011. With this addition and after waiving two players Sunday evening, Bridgette Mitchell and Lauren Prochaska, the roster now stands at 14.

Zoll, a 5-7 guard, played at Virginia from 2004-08 and finished her career as the Atlantic Coast Conference career leader in assists with 785. She was drafted 29th overall by the Los Angeles Sparks in the 2008 WNBA Draft. After appearing in six games with the Minnesota Lynx during 2008, Zoll continued her career overseas, most recently with CCC Polkowice in Poland. Zoll led the PLKK by averaging 5.7 assists per game during 2010-11.

Seattle plays its first preseason game Wednesday, May 25, facing the Los Angeles Sparks at 12 noon at Cal State Dominguez Hills. The Storm hosts Tulsa in a second preseason game at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, May 29 at KeyArena.

The regular season opener is set for 12 noon, Saturday, June 4 when Seattle hosts Phoenix in a nationally televised game on ABC.
