Storm Hosts Playoff Game Sunday, Sept. 30

SEATTLE - The Seattle Storm will host the defending WNBA champion Minnesota Lynx in Game 2 of their Western Conference Semifinals matchup on Sunday, Sept. 30 at 6 p.m., the league announced Wednesday. Tickets for that game are available now.

The best-of-three series will begin on the road in Minnesota with Game 1 on Friday, Sept. 28 at 6 p.m. PDT. The series will return to Minnesota for Game 3 if necessary on Tuesday, Oct. 2. The time for that game will be determined later.

Game 1 of the series will be televised on ESPN2, with Game 2 in Seattle scheduled for ESPN. All games can be heard on radio at KPTK AM 1090.

The Storm, in fourth place in the Western Conference, has clinched a 2012 playoff berth and a WNBA-record ninth consecutive appearance in postseason play (2004-12). The Storm had shared the mark of eight playoff appearances in a row with Los Angeles (1999-06). The Indiana Fever has already clinched its eighth consecutive appearance (2005-12).

Seattle (14-18 overall) plays its final home game of the regular season and celebrates Fan Appreciation Night on Friday, Sept. 21 at 7:00 p.m. versus San Antonio (20-12). The Storm closes out the regular season on the road at Phoenix, Sunday, Sept. 23 at 12 noon. That game will be televised on ESPN2.

The 2012 WNBA Playoffs presented by Boost Mobile officially begin Sept. 27 with San Antonio at Los Angeles. The conference finals begin Oct. 4 and the best-of-five WNBA Finals begin Oct. 14.
