Storm Clinches Playoff Berth

SEATTLE - With the Phoenix Mercury's loss to the Indiana Fever Sunday, the Seattle Storm has clinched a 2012 playoff berth and a WNBA-record ninth consecutive appearance in postseason play (2004-12). The Storm had shared the mark of eight playoff appearances in a row with Los Angeles (1999-06). The Indiana Fever has already clinched its eighth consecutive appearance (2005-12).

The Storm (13-14 overall), with an 89-66 victory at Tulsa Saturday, has won two in a row and is in fourth place in the Western Conference.

Seattle's opponent, date and game time will be determined by the conclusion of the regular season on Sept. 23. The best-of-three Western Conference Semifinals begin Sept. 27. The Conference Finals begin Oct. 4 and the best-of-five WNBA Finals begin Oct. 14.

Seattle remains on the road with its next game Tuesday, Sept. 11 versus the Atlanta Dream (16-14). The next Storm home game is Sept. 16 versus Connecticut. After two more home games, Seattle closes out the regular season Sept. 23 at Phoenix.
