Storm Waives Three

A day after waiving center Takeisha Lewis, the Seattle Storm requested waivers on guards Jamie Redd and Felicia Ragland today. All three players were members of the Storm last season.

Redd was one of just three players to be a member of the Stormís first two teams. She averaged 6.2 points per game during her Storm career. The 2001 season was the best of Reddís WNBA career, with the University of Washington graduate averaging 7.2 points per game while playing in all 32 games. Last year, Redd played in just 10 games.

Ragland, selected by Seattle in the second round (28th pick overall) of the 2002 WNBA Draft, averaged 4.5 points in 31 games as a rookie last season. She started three games and scored double-figures on five occasions, including career-highs of 19 points and five three-pointers on July 11 as the Storm defeated the WNBA Champion Los Angeles Sparks at KeyArena.

Lewis, originally selected by Seattle from Louisiana Tech in the third round (35th pick overall) of the 2002 WNBA Draft, appeared in 14 games with the Storm last season.

The Storm now have 14 players in training camp, which does not include center Kamila Vodichkova, still playing overseas in the Czech Republic. The team had to reduce its roster to 15 by Sunday, when the Storm take on the Sacramento Monarchs at the Tacoma Dome. Final rosters, with 11 active players and up to two on the injured list, are due May 21.
