Seattle Storm Acquires Charde Houston From Phoenix
Storm Sends Ewelina Kobryn to Mercury

SEATTLE - The Seattle Storm announced today the team has acquired Charde Houston from the Phoenix Mercury in exchange for the rights to Ewelina Kobryn.

�We are excited about Charde joining the Storm,� said head coach and general manager Brian Agler. �Charde is a very versatile scorer who is challenging to defend. She will strengthen us offensively and is an extremely good athlete who can score in bunches.�

Houston spent the past two seasons with Phoenix, starting 26 games and averaging 8.9 points and 2.8 rebounds in that span. She owns career averages of 9.2 points per game, 3.5 rebounds per game and 19.1 minutes per game.

Houston spent the 2013 WNBA offseason competing with Samsung Life Bichumi in South Korea. She averaged 22.0 points per game and 9.0 rebounds per game this past season.

The San Diego, Calif. native was drafted in the third round (30th overall) in the 2008 WNBA Draft by the Minnesota Lynx. She capped her time in Minnesota with winning the 2011 WNBA Championship with the Lynx.

Kobryn appeared in 51 games for the Storm throughout the 2011 and 2012 seasons, averaging 3.6 points per game and 2.0 rebounds per game.
