Gallery: Jenny Boucek's NGWSD

Feb. 1, 2012

To celebrate National Girls and Women in Sports Day, Seattle Storm Assistant Coach Jenny Boucek spoke to students at Seattle Girls' School and Holy Names Academy about her experience. At Seattle Girls' School, she was mobbed by young and enthusiastic fans. She spoke about things she has learned in sports that apply in life and taught the girls how do to "baller love," which is, she says, how basketball players hug. At Holy Names, an all-girls school, she shared the importance of supporting your teammates in any endeavor, sports or otherwise. Students faced off in a shooting competition by class, won by the seniors.

Boucek also visited the set of KING5's New Day NW, where she was joined by three Holy Names athletes to talk about National Girls and Women in Sports Day and square off in a pop-a-shot competition. See the video here and check out photos from Boucek's day
