Colt McCoy to Headline Faith & Family Night
SAN ANTONIO - Former University of Texas quarterback Colt McCoy will be the featured speaker for Faith & Family Night, the San Antonio Silver Stars announced today. McCoy will deliver a postgame testimonial after the Silver Stars game against the Seattle Storm at the AT&T Center on June 9 at 7 p.m.
A graduate of Jim Ned High School in Tuscola, Texas, McCoy was the starting quarterback for the University of Texas from 2005 to 2009. As a senior, McCoy led the Longhorns to the BCS National Championship game at the Rose Bowl after a perfect 12-0 regular season. The 2008 Heisman Trophy runner-up, McCoy won 13 of the top 15 major college football awards during his senior season, including NCAA Quarterback of the Year. He currently ranks second all-time in games won by an NCAA Division I quarterback (45).
McCoy was drafted by the Cleveland Browns in the third round of the 2009 NFL Draft. He earned the job of starting quarterback during the latter part of his rookie season and remained in that role through the 2011 season. McCoy threw for 2,733 yards and 14 touchdowns last season.
