Only 4 Home Games Left As the Chicago Sky Push Towards the Playoffs!
The Sky (12-14) won four of the last five games and is currently in the fourth and final playoff spot in the WNBA's Eastern Conference, one game ahead of New York (10-14) and Washington (10-14) and two games behind third place Connecticut (14-12)! We've got eight games left, all but one against Eastern Conference teams, so we need your support!
We face Connecticut in an important road game today at 6 p.m. CDT. The Sky is 1-1 against Connecticut this season, with a 102-97 overtime loss on May 31 and an 87-74 win on June 17. Listen to the game on WVON 1690AM, or streaming at wnba.com.
On Friday, August 3, the Sky meets Eastern Conference-leading Detroit for the fourth time this season, at the UIC Pavilion. We defeated the Shock last Thursday, 83-73. Wouldn't you love to see that kind of victory in person? Come to the Pavilion on Friday and cheer the team on.
On Sunday, August 5, we meet the Mystics at Washington. This game is key to holding on to that fourth playoff spot. The Sky is 1-2 against the Mystics this season. Listen to the game on WVON 1690AM, or streaming at wnba.com.
We're back home on Tuesday, August 7, hosting the struggling Indiana Fever, who are playing without All-Star Tamika Catchings. Come to the UIC Pavilion for a 7 p.m. tip-off... we need to fill the place!
With the Sky in serious playoff contention, we are thrilled to offer you 2007 playoff tickets! This is one of your important SkyRider benefits: the first right to secure your seats for the playoffs. This is how our "Pay as We Play" Playoff Plan works: you reserve your seats for the playoffs and we only charge your credit card for any home playoff games we play (ticket prices are the same for the playoffs). We need to reserve your seats by August 11 before playoff tickets go on sale to the general public on August 13. To reserve your seats, please click here, complete the form and fax it back to the Sky. Or, you can call or email your Account Executive. We will place your purchased tickets in your MySky Account. All you need to do is forward your tickets to yourself via email, print them and bring them to the arena. If you need another method of ticket distribution, please call your AE. Please click here for the playoff schedule. We will not know if we play on August 23 or 24 until the conclusion of the regular season schedule on August 19.
(If you already confirmed playoff tickets at the July 22 post-game party, you don't need to do this)

Nothing But Nets
At the July 27 home game, the Sky raised money for Nothing But Nets, a grassroots campaign started by the United Nations Foundation to prevent malaria, a leading killer of children in Africa, by providing insecticide-treated bed nets. With the help of Chicago Fire star Diego Gutierrez, a national spokesman for Nothing but Nets, Sky fans donated $3,682. The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation matches all donations dollar for dollar, bringing the total amount contributed to the cause to $7,364 – which buys and delivers 736 malaria nets, saving 736 lives. Thank you, Sky fans, for your generosity!!
