The Chicago Sky will host “Youth Sports Night” on Saturday, June 29th when the Sky take on the Los Angeles Sparks at Allstate Arena.

Fans of Chicago professional sports teams will have the opportunity to meet current and former Chicago athletes from the Bulls (Sidney Green), Marques Sullivan from the NFL Retired Players Association, Rush, and former WNBA legend Sheryl Swoopes who is now Head Coach at Loyola University. Representatives from the Chicago Steel, Chicago Fire, the DePaul Women’s Basketball Team, Totally Positive Productions and Big Brothers big sisters will also have displays and information set up along the concourse so you can talk all things sports.

In addition to celebrating our professional teams, the Sky will be announcing winners of our Girls Basketball High School Team of the Year program. The program which is presented by Under Armour celebrates the success of high school girl’s basketball in Chicago. Ten teams were nominated and awarded High School Team of the of the Week winners throughout the 2012-13 high school basketball season and those teams will be in attendance and honored on the court at halftime. The Sky will also reveal the overall winner of the High School Team of the Year for 2013.

This year’s finalists comprised several great teams including Stevenson High School, Wheaton North High School, Streamwood High School, Lane Tech High School, Lockport High School, Morton High School, Bolingbrook High School, Downers Grove South, Niles West, and Palatine High School.
