The Sky finish their 2013 WNBA Playoff run in Indianapolis after falling to the Fever 79-54. Sylvia Fowles led with a double-double, scoring 14 points and taking down 14 rebounds. Elena Delle Donne and Epiphanny Prince each contributed 10 points.

The Sky gained the lead early in first minutes of the game behind three sets of free throw shots by Swin Cash, Delle Donne and Courtney Vandersloot. The Fever responded, going on a 17-4 run to at the end of the first. The Sky finished their streak with a pull up jumper by Delle Donne and a pair of free throws by Prince.

The Sky entered the second quarter trailing 22-14 but kept the game tight only allowing four Fever points in the first four minutes of the quarter. The Fever’s gap grew, however, with the Sky falling 14 behind with just three minutes left in the half. The Fever shot with 55.9% from the floor compared to the Sky’s 25.9% in the first half.

The Sky, who’s shots just would not fall, struggled to make up ground in the final quarter. Keeping their focus on defense, the Sky controlled the Fever for several minutes in the middle of the quarter but finished down 24 to close out the third.

In the final 10 minutes, despite a focus on getting defensive stops, the Fever continued to shoot the ball with accuracy (40%). The Sky, who shot 29.4%, kept the Fever to just 12 points in the quarter.

The Sky close out the season with their first playoff appearance and a 24-10 regular season record to top the Eastern Conference. Order your 2014 season tickets by calling 866-SKY-WNBA, or Ticketmaster.
