Sky Down Dream
Jia Perkins started the game hot on offense making her first four field goal attempts and she shut down Atlanta's Angel McCoughtry holding her to just 11 points, six of which coming late in the fourth quarter. Coming into tonight McCoughtry had been averaging 22 points a night.
Sylvia Fowles led the Sky (3-4) on the offensive end with 19 points and nine rebounds as the Sky outscored the Dream 34-26 in the paint. After starting the season with six consecutive wins, the Dream have dropped to 6-2 overall.
Four of the five Chicago starters scored in double figures. Shameka Christon and Cathrine Kraayeveld scored the first 12 Sky points in the fourth quarter and each finished the game with 13 points. Dominique Canty chipped in 11 for the Sky.
Iziane Castro Marques led the way for Atlanta with 18 points.
The Sky was especially careful with the ball only turning it over 13 times while the Dream gave up 23 turnovers.
The Sky come back to Chicago tomorrow to play the Tulsa Shock at Allstate Arena at 7pm.
