Sky Come Up Short

The Sky scored first with a layup by Sasha Goodlett to take an early 2-0 lead but that proved to be their only lead of the night. The Storm responded with a 7-0 run after a Sue Bird Jump shot to give the Storm a 7-2 advantage midway through the first quarter. Chicago's Jamierra Faulkner came off the bench to help the Sky pull within four (18-14) to close the quarter.

Seattle's scoring came alive in the second quarter with Camille Little knocking down 6 points. Little led all scorers at the half with 10 points. The Storm used two 8-0 spurts in the second quarter to take a 12-point lead at the end of the half.

Markeisha Gatling provided a spark on the offense contributing nine of the 24-points in the third quarter for the Sky, decreasing the deficit to eight heading into the fourth. Gatling led the Sky with 11 points and 6 rebounds heading into the final quarter of play.

Chicago continued to rally in the fourth quarter behind timely scoring from Epiphanny Prince who delivered 12 of her game-high 18 points in the final quarter. The Sky pulled within four points, but was unable to get any closer. Markeisha Gatling finished with a season high in both points (15) and rebounds (10), while Tamera Young finished with 10 points and 7 rebounds, tying her season high.
