Prince Comfortable with Sky Teammates

When Epiphanny Prince runs the Chicago Sky offense for the first time during training camp, she’ll already know from experience where to go with the ball if she sees an opening inside.

“Me and Sylvia [Fowles] played great together in Russia,” said Prince. “We set a lot of pick and rolls. I love playing with her as well as Courtney Paris.”

Prince played with Fowles during her brief time with Russian power Spartak Moscow before she was loaned to Turkish club Botas-Spor where she teamed up with Paris.

Getting that kind of time in with Fowles and Paris has Prince excited to be drafted by Chicago.

“I am really close with Sylvia and Courtney, so it was like a dream come true,” Prince said.

Prince isn’t the only one excited about the prospects of Prince contributing the success of WNBA All-Stars Fowles and Jia Perkins.

“I think [Prince] will help a lot,” said Sky General Manager and Head Coach Steven Key. “Being a strong ball handler and decision maker, as well as putting points on the board, the opposition is going to have to respect her. It will give Jia space to distribute and get into the lane. For Sylvia we can expect to get her a lot more touches.”

But even before Prince concerns herself with which post player to feed the ball to, she knows what it will take for her to contribute to the Sky.

“I’m just going to work hard and keep working hard,” Prince added.

From a rookie, that’s really all a coach could ask for.
