Work, work and more work is the conditioning of the American people. With such chaotic and unbalanced lives, its no wonder we suffer from heart attack, stroke, and obesity at such an alarming rate. Consistent personal fitness and massage therapy has proven to improve quality and longevity of life. Mysti has dedicated herself to holistic health care. Each modality requires hours of continuing education to stay certified and licensed. It is extremely important to stay current and informed. Health is our most important investment, we can become completely unaware of just how important it is, until you lose someone very close or it affects you directly. With that said, it is her goal to inform, motivate and help others who wish to change their lives for the better.
Mysti Cobb was born and raised in Chicago, IL. At a young age she studied ballet, jazz and modern dance. In high school she received a full scholarship from the Joseph Holmes Dance School. In 1995, she attended Millikin University with a major in Human Services and minor in Dance. Half way through her first semester in college, Mysti tore her ACL (knee injury) in her left knee in dance class. After surgery and six months of physical therapy, her recovery was strong, but not strong enough to sustain the intense curriculum of a dance minor. The decision was made to drop her minor. Rehabilitation became her focus, which was her first introduction to weights and the gym. In 2002 her life changed. Mysti lost her father to heart disease. This devastating experience shifted her focus and created major changes. The death of her father was completely preventable. The lifestyle of her father included: bad diet, lack of regular exercise, lack of sufficient sleep, and stress. This experience sparked an interest in health and diet. In 2003, Mysti enrolled in a intensive exercise program at the National Personal Training Institute, here, she truly learned how important diet and exercise are for the quality of life. Mysti has trained in various settings from university fitness centers to private personal training studios. In 2004, Mysti decided to further her education in holistic wellness by attending The Soma Institute of Clinical Massage Therapy. There she completed a clinical internship at Northwestern Memorial Hospital and she has worked in various chiropractic and physical therapy settings. In 2006, Mysti traveled to Thailand to study Thai massage. She received her training at the Thai Massage School of Chiang Mai. The experience of traveling over seas opened the door to Oriental Bodywork modalities. Personal Training had shifted into dealing with posture and alignment issues, pilates was the obvious next step. More and more people, work longer hours, travel extensively for business, and perform repetitive actions that cause overuse. In 2009, Mysti completed the BASI Comprehensive Teacher Training Course for pilates. Clients see her regularly at Swan Dive and Body Endeavors pilates studios. Mysti continues to dedicate her time through continuing education and volunteer opportunities.

I founded Kids In Training of Chicago 3 yrs ago with the mission to combat childhood obesity, diabetics, and other health related issues due to lack of physical activities, and healthy foods in these low income Chicago communities through incorporating daily various fun fitness activities, nutritional workshops provided by Kids In Training of Chicago After School All Stars Program, and Kids In Training of Chicago Summer Sports Camp.
