The Chicago Sky, will present the workshop at Allstate Arena before the Sky take on the Los Angeles Sparks Saturday night, July 30. The Workshop will begin at 5:00 p.m. CT, and registration is open now. Registration for this event is $15 and includes a ticket to game, entry to the workshop and a donation to one of the participating organizations. The workshop will include numerous interactive activities for teens and parents such as bully prevention and intervention activities. There will also be speeches from organizations for the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning (LGBTQ) communities including Trevor Project, IL Safe School Alliance, Affinity Youth Leadership Institute, Center on Halsted and The Broadway Youth Center. Each organization is committed to promoting safety, support and healthy development for LGBTQ youth in Illinois schools and communities.

Long-time lesbian activist and Illinois' 14th District state representative on Chicago's Far North Side, Kelly Cassidy, will be on hand to talk to teens and parents on her experience on this important issue. The workshop concludes at 6:30 before the Sky and Sparks tip off at 7:00pm inside Allstate Arena. Fans can also learn more by visiting the participating organizations on the South concourse of the arena.
