Steven Key Named GM and Head Coach

The Sky announced the resignation of General Manager and Head Coach Bo Overton, effective immediately. Steven Key, formerly assistant coach, has been named GM and head coach. Key, 39, has been with the Sky since its inaugural season in 2006. He helped set up the organization, select talent and institute an aggressive, energetic style of play, and he played an integral role in the teamï¿½s dramatic improvement in its second season.

Prior to the Sky, Key was head coach for the Dusseldorf Magics, a professional menï¿½s team in Germany, for three years. He guided the team to a third place finish, improving from a fifth place finish the year before. Prior to coaching, he spent over 10 years as a professional basketball player in Europe. The 6ï¿½4ï¿½ Key was a point guard at Boston University, where he played for Coach Mike Jarvis. He graduated from BU in 1990 with a B.A. in Public Relations. Coach Key is a native of Maryland. He, his wife Janka and their infant daughter reside in downtown Chicago.
