High School Team of the Week December 11, 2007- Shiloh High School

The Chicago Sky has named the Shiloh High School Lady Raiders its second “High School Team of the Week.” The Lady Raiders relentlessly strive for excellence both on and off the court, with an 11-1 record and three seniors in the top five of their class academically.

Shiloh High School is a small, rural 1-A school with 134 students. The seniors have played on the varsity team since they were freshmen; one of them is approaching the 1,000 points mark. According to the nominations from coaches, teachers and fans, the players have an unselfish, team-first mentality, and decided to work together to make this a great season. The Lady Raiders won the Oakwood McDonald’s Classic tournament over Thanksgiving, and their only loss so far this season came on a night when two starters were out. At the beginning of each season, the team holds a “Raider Showcase” scrimmage, asking people in the community to bring a new toy for admission; the team donates the toys to a local charity.

The Sky wishes the Shiloh Lady Raiders the best of luck this season and congratulates them for their dedication to the game of basketball, their studies and their community!
