Chicago Sky High School Team of the Week - Wheaton North - December 16, 2008

The girls varsity team from Wheaton North was named the Chicago Sky’s High School Team of the Week for December 16, 2008. The Falcons have shown hard work, dedication and commitment over the last 4 years, which has propelled them to completely turning their basketball program around.

During head coach David Eaton’s first season, the Falcons finished 1-27 and were in the middle of a fifty-eight game conference losing streak. A mere four years after that, the Falcons boast a 6-3 start to the season, with confidences soaring high.

The team was nominated by Coach Eaton who said, “These kids are the ultimate team… [they] have made this program what it is and have done it all by believing in each other and working together.”

The team’s hard work has been not only on the court but in the classroom as well, with seventeen of the twenty players being named to the Academic All-Conference Team. The Sky would like to congratulate the Falcons on their success, thank them for their hard work and wishes them the best of luck this season.
