What up homies!!!
Back in Chicago, first let me start by saying what is going on with this weather!! I know you havenít heard from me since the offseason but Iím back and aside from the weather it feels really GREAT to be back in the Windy City. Training camp seemed to fly by and then we were down to our final roster, with some great additions and familiar faces.
As you all know we have gotten off to a really great and exciting start. After losing by almost 20 our first game in Minnesota we have been able to protect our home court, going 3-0 at home so far. This is already a sign of a positive change this season as last season our home record was only 8-9.
I don't know about you guys, but I feel like the team is a little more complete than in the seasons past. We have good solid players at every position and everyone is playing really well together. There is a lot we still have to work on to improve even more, but it will all come together in due time. Iíve been a member of the Sky since its inaugural season and I gotta say Iím really excited to see what the 2009 WNBA season will bring.
Right now we're in Connecticut taking on the Sun again, after we just beat them at the UIC on Tuesday, if you were there you know it was a nail biter. They have a great team, but we just have to stay focused and Iím sure we can leave here with another W. I don't know if anyone has ever been out here, but there is absolutely nothing but the hotel and casino. I'm not much of a gambler, so needless to say there really isn't too much for me to do, other than eat!!! Hopefully all you Sky fans will be cheering us on tonight against the Sun via the internet. After that we head to D.C. for Friday night and Atlanta for Tuesday.
Well I gotta run. Keep pulling for us on this 3 game road trip. I look forward to getting back to Chicago to play in front of our home town fans!! Oh and here is my selfish plug for the All-Star gameÖ.. Please vote for meÖ Candice Dupree for 2009 WNBA All-Star game!!! And hey, donít forget my Teammates especially Jia and Syl. They REALLY deserve it. How about Jiaís performance on Friday night?! She scored 20 out of her 24 points in the second half.
