Since becoming a member of the Sky this past May, guard Courtney Clements has made her presence felt in Chicago. In 2014, she appeared in all but one of the Sky’s 34 regular season games and saw action in three playoff games, making one start in helping the team earn its first-ever Eastern Conference Championship. Clements made the most of the opportunities that Head Coach Pokey Chatman gave her this season, setting many personal bests along the way.

Clements shot a career-high 36.4% from the field this season, and was the only player on the Sky to finish the year with a perfect free throw record. She led the team in scoring on August 17th against San Antonio, tallying a personal-best 17 points in a career-high 38 minutes of play. On the season, the six-foot-tall guard averaged 2.7 points per game in 11.4 minutes per game.

Throughout the year, Clements was a strong defensive asset. She finished the season with 41 defensive rebounds, including a career-high five on May 24th against Atlanta. She thrived as a well-rounded player off the bench, doing everything that Coach Chatman asked her to do in a Sky season that was full of injuries and adversity. During the 2014 season, Clements stepped up when her team needed her most, and she’ll look for chances to do it again in 2015.
