Chastity Reed is not ready to reflect on her decorated college career at the University of Arkansas Little Rock, instead, shes completely focused on the future and training camp that is set to begin on May 15.

Before being selected 25th overall in the Third Round of the 2011 WNBA Draft, Reed shined at the UALR, becoming the first player in school history, male or female, to surpass 2,000 career points. In 2011, Reed led the Trojans in scoring and rebounding en route to being named the Sun Belt Conference Player of the Year and Sun Belt Conference Tournament Most Outstanding Player.

Despite the accolades, Reed was unsure of her draft prospects even though General Manager and Head Coach Nolan Richardson and Assistant Coach Wayne Stehlik had personally gone to watch her play in Little Rock, AR.

I didnt think about it too much. I know a lot of people were talking about it but I really didnt keep it in my mind, Reed said. I was talking to somebody, they told me I got picked, so I went back home and my teammates told me that I made it.

Only after hearing her name being called on stage and getting the phone call from teammates, did Reed realize that what once was a dream was now soon to be a reality and all that that would entail.

It was close and I was happy about that. I am excited about that part, said Reed about being drafted. Thats when I realized that its time to get work.

Since being drafted, Reed has been working on every drill full-court and at a faster pace in an attempt to build up her endurance for Shock training camp. Reed is expecting a different level of intensity in both the mental and physical aspects of the game once she arrives at training camp and is preparing for it the only way she knows how working.

Im a worker. Every day. Every second, Reed said. Im not going to take a day or even a play off.
