Overseas Update: Jennifer Lacy

After two seasons with the Shock, Jennifer Lacy has decided to return for the third as she has agreed to a multi-year extension with the team this week. After taking the Fall overseas season off to rest her body and mind, Lacy is currently playing in Turkey for Antakya where has recorded eight points in the two games that she has appeared.

"Since the end of the season, I have been working on expanding my overall game," Lacy said. "I want to be a more effective and consistent player throughout the 2012 season. I am overseas now getting back in game shape. Every game here in Turkey is competitive and playing here will help prepare me for the season."

Lacy was one of two Shock players (Tiffany Jackson was the other) to appear in all 34 games for the Shock in 2011 and started 18 of them. Lacy averaged 6.3 points, 2.6 rebounds in 19.2 minutes a game. For 2012, she is most excited about the potential of the and the opportunity for her to play under Head Coach Gary Kloppenburg.

"As with every season, my expectations are high. I think we have all the tools now that we need to be successful. The past two seasons were challenging, but I am hoping that we can get over the hump this season and win more games. The City of Tulsa and our fans deserve it. I know the organization has worked tirelessly this off season to help ensure our on court success now its up to us to do the rest."

Lacy along with Kayla Pedersen should provide the Shock with out depth at the forward position as well as versatility in terms of defending the perimeter defensively while extending the floor beyon the three-point line on the offensive end. "She embodies the kind of player we want to continue to build around - a high-energy player that will continue to work hard to improve," Head Coach Gary Kloppenburg said. "She is a versatile defender and has the quickness and skills to be able to play multiple positions. She is a person of high character that is a great teammate that contributes greatly to the Tulsa community. We are looking forward to her return to the Tulsa Shock as we continue to improve."
