Shock Trade 7th Pick in First Round of WNBA Draft
The two players traded to the Shock are Amber Holt, 6-0 forward and Chante Black, 6-5 center who are respectively second and first year players in the league.
Amber Holt scored six points per game and was named to the WNBA All Rookie Team in 2008. Holt played at Middle Tennessee State and was selected by the Sun in the first round (9th overall) of the 2008 WNBA draft.
Chante Black averaged two points per game and over three rebounds per game. Black played at Duke and was selected by the Sun in the first round (10th overall) of the 2009 WNBA Draft.
“We actually believe we got a tremendous deal with trading our first pick in this year’s draft and our second round pick in next year’s draft to get two great quality players that will fit my system.” Head Coach and General Manager Nolan Richardson said.
