Smith Meets Fans At Shock Open House

The Detroit Shock and a number of their Championship season ticket holders enjoyed another all-day Open House at The Palace of Auburn Hills on Monday, December 18. For eight hours fans had the opportunity to tour the Shock locker room, check out available seat locations for the 2007 WNBA Season, and interact with WNBA All-Decade Team performer Katie Smith. A few lucky fans even managed to beat her in a game of Knock Out.

One fan, Carla Masten, even edged the six-time All-Star in a game of H.O.R.S.E – although it took her a few tries. A former Sparks fan who attended the first WNBA game ever on June 21, 1997, Masten now calls Rochester, New York home. She drove the four hours to the Motor City to meet her favorite WNBA player (Smith, naturally) and check out her front row seats for the Shock’s 2007 title defense.

Fans who purchased tickets at the Shock Open House were also able to select a gift off of the Shock holiday tree. Among other items, Detroit faithful walked away with Palace gift cards, championship swag and backstage passes to a Shock home game.

Another Shock Open House will be scheduled for later this winter, so if you missed out on the fun this time, be on the lookout in the New Year for your next opportunity to select your seats for the 2007 season.
