Detroit Shock Individual Games On-Sale April 9

Auburn Hills, Mich. – On Thursday, April 9, 2009, starting at 10:00 a.m., the Detroit Shock will make individual game tickets for their 12th WNBA campaign available. Tickets can be purchased in person at The Palace Box Office, by calling (248) 377-0100, logging on to, or at all Ticketmaster outlets.

Three of the defending champion’s season-long ticket promotions are:

  • Friends and Family Sundays + Opening Night - fans get four lower level tickets and four $5 Palace Gift Cards for just $50. Plus, every fan 14 and under can take a post game shot on the court.
  • Girls' Friday Nights -- Ladies get 50% off the price of their tickets and special concessions and merchandise discounts.
  • Lower level tickets start at just $10 for every home game. Ask about group discounts for groups of 10 or more.

    The Shock will battle with Western Conference rival Los Angeles Sparks in their home opener set for Monday, June 8 at 7:30 p.m. ET. As part of their opening night celebration, the Shock will raise its 2008 WNBA championship banner and players and coaches will be presented with their championship rings.

    Highlights of the Shock home schedule include two games versus 2008 Eastern Conference Finals opponent New York Liberty (August 4 and September 10), two meetings with Lindsay Whalen and the Connecticut Sun (July 5 and August 2), and two meetings with Eastern Conference rival Indiana Fever (June 19 and September 4). Single game match-ups include a meeting with Diana Taurasi, Cappie Pondexter and the Phoenix Mercury (September 1), and a WNBA Finals rematch with Becky Hammon, Sophia Young and the San Antonio Silver Stars (August 23).
