Coach's Corner 3-14-14
Going into the conference tournaments, I wanted to start my weekly Coachís Corner blog reflecting on my busy weekend last week. I was out and about scouting college prospects and traveling nonstop. My first stop was at the ACC tournament in Greensboro, NC. I got a chance to watch some talented players, such as Alyssa Thomas from Maryland.
On Sunday, I was up at 4:30 a.m. and back on a plane at 6:00 a.m. in Charlotte, NC headed to Tulsa. After landing, I was right back on the road to Oklahoma City for the Big 12 tournament. I got to watch some talented players like Odyssey Sims out of Baylor and Tiffany Bias from Oklahoma State.
I saw some great games last weekend and ran into many of my WNBA coaching friends. Itís funny - I spent more time flying on planes than seeing games, but thatís part of the job! This week, I will be looking at the WNBA playerís free-agent market and working on my offensive play book. Be on the lookout for me around Tulsa! Iíll be going out into the community to promote our great organization and get everyone fired up for Opening Day on May 23.
At the end of each blog, I will be sharing a Quote of the Week to sign off. Look out for my next blog around the same time next week!
