Shock Head Coach Bill Laimbeer

On almost winning the game:
"Almost doesn’t really thrill me. I think once again we showed our schizophrenia, we just don’t show that we’re ready to play basketball some nights. We turned it around but it wasn’t good enough.”

On the comeback:
“We actually wanted it, we wanted to play basketball. We decided that we didn’t want to be embarrassed. We actually tried to do our job and to play as hard as we can and we played better.”

Shock Guard Katie Smith

On almost winning the game:
"Almost doesn’t cut it, we lost.”

On Seattle’s play in the first half:
“They hit shots. Defensively we weren’t as tight as we probably needed to be, we didn’t hit shots, a little bit of everything, just a combination of things. They came out and we executing on both ends of the floor, better than ourselves, but we did kind of pick ourselves up. When you dig yourself a hole like that, it takes about everything you can give them to maybe win. Almost, but still a loss."

On any positives from the game:
“We didn’t give up, that’s about it."

Storm Head Coach Anne Donovan

On the game:
"It was a great first half. We knew Detroit wasn't going to quit. We watched the New York game and knew that there wasn't going to be another game like that for them. They played very well in the second half. I give them a whole lot of credit."

On the differences between the half:
"I think our defense in the first half caught them off guard, we didn't give them any transition. In the second half, they started to shoot the ball a whole lot better. (Deanna) Nolan came out of the locker room on fire, Katie (Smith) hit some huge shots."

On the Nolan block:
"That was huge. We were all fired up about that. That was special. In fact they're already talking about that in the locker room."

Storm Guard Sue Bird

On the game:
"That was a very tough game. Obviously we had the big lead. You don't want to give up a big lead like that. Obviously with a team like Detroit that does the three things that can wipe away a big lead real quick is hit threes, rebound and run and they did that. "

If Nolan is the only person in the league that could make that block:
"Yeah. It's funny because I've seen her do it so many times against other people and I knew she was there but I thought I had enough room to put it up. Lesson learned. I should have shot-faked."

Storm Forward Lauren Jackson

On the game:
"It was a nail biter, really. "

On Sue Bird's game:
"She was awesome. She really started the game off great and we just rallied behind her. In the second half we just didn't play that well."

On the foul between her and Cheryl:
"We just had some words. It's no big deal. It's fine, there's no hard feelings."
