    Shock Head Coach Bill Laimbeer

    On losing another close one:
We had a four point lead and we turned the ball over. I should have been up yelling timeout, timeout when she got stuck. We just arent making the plays we need to win basketball games.

On Indianas Kelly Millers Three Point Shot:
You arent suppose to give up three point shots when you are up by two. Instinct takes over a lot of times and Catchings tried to drive the basket. I havent seen the replays but I am sure what happened was we instinctively tried to go to our normal shell defense and they found the open player.

We just dont have the effort for forty minutes that it takes to win a basketball game in this league. Its very difficult for us right now. We are struggling to get a win we have lost six games by four points or less. We cant get discouraged. There is no place to hide right now, we have to stand here and take it and find a way to win a basketball game.

On Chandi Jones and Iciss Tillis playing a lot:
They have been working hard in practice. You could see it coming. They have gotten more focused in the last couple weeks. They still make their rookie mistakes, but right now we need them badly. We need everyone on this team right now to try and get a win.

    Shock Guard Swin Cash

    On the 1-5 home record:
I think a lot of things that are going on right now are unexplainable. We just have to keep after it, I mean that is the one thing in this league. We cant just sit and be bitter about this loss we have to refocus and keep going. If all these losses right now mean that at the end we win it all and we do what we have to do, then nobody will look at these losses.

About the inability to rebound in the first half:
They were just outworking us. They were quicker and they were being more physical than us inside and getting loose balls. That is something that is unacceptable for a team because we are built on defense, rebounding and being physical.

    Shock Guard Chandi Jones

On stepping in for Elaine Powell:
I felt very calm out there. I just wanted to step up and do whatever I could to help the team out. I felt like I needed to step up for the team since being the point guard you have to be like a coach out there. I just figured that I had to step-up.

    Fever Head Coach Brian Winters

This is the first game we beat them. Theyve all been very close. Even the two games we lost were very close. It was a four point game here last time and a four point game in Indiana. So, we knew it was going to be close. It was a very competitive game. We havent won a game all year on the last shot, so it was nice to do it. And it was nice to see Kelly Miller make it. Shes been struggling with her shooting lately and it was a great shot for her. I happy to win it.

On being down by nine after a Shock run:
Well, when you miss shots the other team starts running on you. And thats what happened, they started running us and thats when they took the lead. They started taking it at us on the break with Cash and Nolan. When you miss it, you have to have a little bit better defense balance. So thats when we started putting two players at the top. When you have a young team, you just have to hang in there for the next four to five minutes and keep the game at a reasonable level and well make a run at some point.

    Fever Guard Kelly Miller

    On hitting the last shot:
It feels good getting my shot back. The first thing I did was look at the clock and see how much time was left. There wasnt much time left and then I got excited. I was glad it went in. Tamika goes to the whole a lot, she drives hard and shes a great passer. Shes given me other great passes like that so I was expecting it. Luckily, I knocked it down.
