On tonight’s loss:
“I think mentally we weren’t ready to play the basketball game tonight. We came to play basketball, we didn’t come to win basketball. They (Liberty) played harder than us and they got the calls and we didn’t. We lost because we didn’t show up mentally.

Shock Forward Cheryl Ford

Tonight’s performance and playoffs:
“There was a difference in the last four or give games and we will be ready for the playoffs. Tonight we just didn’t come out and play hard from the start.”

Liberty Head Coach Pat Coyle

On today’s win:
“It feels good. It feels great actually. Last time we played them in June, we should’ve won. We were up pretty much the whole game. They beat us on a shot at the buzzer. Any time we win, it feels good.”

On the Liberty:
“I’m more concerned with how we keep progressing. The last six or seven games, we’ve been really aggressive and been in an attack mode. The young kids are getting a chance to play in big games. They’re big games to us when they’re close like this. I’m more concerned that we keep growing and getting better every game and every day.”

Liberty Center Barbara Farris

On the Liberty defense:
“These past four games we have focused a lot more on defense. We are trying to make the most of turning our defense into offense. We tried to take advantage of it (Detroit’s frustration) and not lose our focus.

Liberty Forward Cathrine Kraayeveld

On the Liberty:
“We know we have been a good team all year. It has just taken us time to get a feel for each other, and really get it together as a team. We are just trying to play at the top of our game now, and when Becky (Hammon) gets back, it will definitely boost our game up.”
