    Shock Head Coach Bill Laimbeer

    On assessment of tonights game:
Were learning. I was proud of them in the second half. We need to learn to play defense first and we have a long way to go. Were standing around on offense.

    Shock Forward Swin Cash

    On Shocks defense:
Were not where we need to be right now, defensively. Its not about the coaching. Its about us as players. We have to start playing defensively, individually.

    Shock Guard Deanna Nolan

    On defense:
Were having a hard time being intense on the defensive end right now. We are not rotating very well on defense. A lot of times well get the first rotation but miss the second defensive rotation and its leaving people open for easy shots.

    Fever Head Coach Brian Winters

We had a good performance tonight. Detroit was coming off the second night of a back to back. We played well. First ten minutes of the second half, we controlled the tempo. Our goal was to win all four home games and we won three. Thats good. We have six games left before August 1. Five of them are on the road and four are on the West coast.

    Fever Forward Tamika Catchings

On Detroits double digit loss Thursday night:
Anytime you play a great team, you know they can snap back. We had to match their energy and intensity early knowing they had a game last night and had to travel.

On other teams playing zone against Fever:
Tonight, we stepped up big and hit open shots against the zone. We moved the ball around a lot.

On up tempo start of game:
It allows us to attack the basket, getting some easy scores. Tonight, we attacked the basket knowing theyd be a little tired from last night.

    Fever Guard Deanna Jackson

On appearance of her outside shot:
Ive been doing extra shooting. Doing extra things trying to get my shot down.

On Fevers success against Shock zone:
We worked the ball around and made the extra pass. With a wide open jumper, it is easy to knock down the shot.

On Detroits double digit loss Thursday night:
We knew we had to come out and be really focused. We knew they would be over aggressive and would be a little tired. So we wanted to try to push it early.
