    Shock Head Coach Bill Laimbeer

We know we are not good right now and we are learning how to compete again, how to play hard and learning how hard teams are gonna play against us. I thought Connecticut played spectacular for a tremendous part of the game. Our sheer will is what won the game, but that cant happen, we cant play like that for 2/3 of the game.

    On the 19 turnovers:
Its just a matter of effort and concentration. Im hoping for the last part of the game we realized how important it is for us to play that hard and play that focused.

For the last eight minutes of the game we were outstanding. If we play like that for 40 minutes we will be very good, but we are far from that.

On Cheryl Fords rebounding, she had a game-high 12:
That is her job to rebound the basketball. We dont run plays for her, her task is to go get it and she is the best in the league (at rebounding), by far and away the best rebounder in his league and she is only a second year player. When she fully develops her game, she will be phenomenal.
    Shock Forward Cheryl Ford

On what was going thru her mind being down double digits:
We gotta pull together and take it basket by basket and thats what we did. It was going thru my mind that we cant lose again. We just needed a W. I didnt care if it was ugly or crazy or whatever, we just needed to win.

When asked if she will be like everyone else in Detroit and chanting Beat LA during the NBA Finals:
I will not. I love the Pistons, they are my boys, but I love my father too and I love him even more and he will be there when everyone else is not.
    Shock Forward Swin Cash

We kept fighting and preaching to everybody, dont give up, we are built for this and its gonna turn around, keep fighting and fighting. We are recognizing that in this league you need to play that hard for 40 minutes, you cant turn it off and on.

Give a lot of credit to Connecticut. They were playing awesome basketball, they were hitting every shot and everyone was clicking.
    Shock Guard Deanna Nolan

On if there is a rivalry with the Sun:
Just a little bit because we are on a seven-game winning streak (against them). We think of them as a rival team and we think all the East teams are rivals.
    Sun Head Coach Mike Thibault

Asked about what Detroit did defensively in the second half?
You mean what we did to ourselves? We scored 73 points, which is above our average. I thought the game was, if you want to put it into one category, was strictly rebounding. All we needed was one more stop, one more rebound, and the game was over.

They killed us on the boards. I thought they got great position on us. We lost the physical battle. We had the game won.

On the defense against Deanna Nolan:
I thought we did a bad job defensively. Not KT (Katie Douglas) necessarily, but we were slow to help.
    Sun Forward Nykesha Sales

It was a tough loss. It was a game we had under control. They werent that much more spectacular than in the first half. They just started hitting more shots. You have to take it like the sixth game of the season
    Sun Guard Lindsay Whalen

"I think the first half, we ran and executed offensively and made some shots. In the second half, we started to stand around a little bit. We have to re-focus because we have another game.
    Sun Center Taj McWilliams-Franklin

On Connecticuts solid first half play:
I guess we were in a flow. We gave away the lead. We gave away the game.
    Sun Guard Katie Douglas

On feeling as if they had closed the gap on Detroit:
Were out there every game to win. We just want to win. Weve just got to fight even harder now on the road.
