  • Cash's Season Statistics
    Shock Head Coach Bill Laimbeer

“I thought our rebounding was outstanding tonight. We didn’t give them any second shot opportunities and our intensity was really great tonight. We didn’t care if this game was 31 to 30. It didn’t matter how many points we scored all that mattered was controlling the boards and gaining a win by one.”

“We talked about how much we wanted this game before we played it. Whoever wanted this game more was going to win it. It was extremely important for our playoff opportunities and we went out there and took control of the game in the second half and didn’t give it back.”

    Shock Center Ruth Riley

“Going to Athens was such a great experience and it’s very different that it’s right in the middle of our season. Swin and I were so excited to be over there and honored to play but at the same point we love playing in Detroit as well.”

“Dawn Staley is one of the smartest players in the league. She is so crafty with the ball and I learned a lot being in Athens and just watching her in practice. She’s tough to play against and leads her team well.”

    Shock Forward Swin Cash

“We were getting defensive stops, getting out on the break, making some easy baskets. That is when we are at our best. We know that Charlotte is a possession by possession team and we feel that if we can get up early then it will be a struggle for them to get back into it.”

“It feels great to be back with the team. I missed them while I was in Athens and it is great to be back. I am still adjusting, personally, from my game but as a team, it’s good to be back in the flow and making playoff runs.”

    Sting Head Coach Trudi Lacey

“We simply didn’t execute down the stretch. We still have a good chance of making the playoffs, but there are only a few days to correct the problems that we have.”

“Detroit is a very physical team. That is their game. But the bottom line is making shots. We have to play consistently on both sides of the ball in order for us to win.”

    Sting Guard Dawn Staley

“We fought and played hard, but we had some ill-advised turnovers. That was the difference in the game.”

“We did well defensively, but we lost the game on the offensive end. We have to correct this in order for us to make the playoffs.”
