    Shock Head Coach Bill Laimbeer

    On clinching a playoff berth:
I am happy for the ladies because they have had to win the last three games to get there. We have come together as a team, which is good. We are going to give it our best shot and I think we are going to win. We have come together as a team and that is what we have been looking for all year long.

    On the bench play:
In this league it is hard to play your bench players especially when you have Cash, Ford and Nolan, there isnt much time. That Cash happens to be hurt, opens up thirty-five minutes a game. That is what we work on all year long, your bench. There time comes at weird times and for our team our bench is vitally important right now.

    On Farris play:
We knew Barb was the strongest player on the court. We dominated the post and we kept throwing it in to Barb and no one on their team could guard her, she is too big and too strong in there. She played great. We saw that early on and our team kept feeding her the ball.

After the first initial five or six minutes of the game I knew we were going to come out poorly. Our practices the last two days were terrible and I warned them how you cant turn it off and on. To their credit, they got their emotions. Once we got into it emotionally the game was over.

    Shock Forward Barb Farris

I was just one-on-one in the post and we were just concentrating on getting the ball in the post and taking advantage of the one-on-one match up.

On coming back at the beginning:
We knew they were going to make shots they have great shooters on the outside, we knew that they were going to make a run

    On the playoff berth:
We can exhale now because we let so many games slip away and it shouldnt have come down to this but we are just thankful and appreciative to be here now.

    Shock Forward Cheryl Ford

I knew that my team was depending on me to come back in the second half and I just knew that I had to go in and make some baskets for them and help out.

We know how hard we have to play and we all saw that anything can happen. We have our mindset right and we have to go to practice on Tuesday until Friday and be ready to play and play each position better.

The bench was great tonight and they know that we are going to need everybody from top to bottom. Its overwhelming right now because everyone is playing so well and everyone is cheering each other on and we have a ton of confidence right now.

    Sting Head Coach Trudi Lacey

On it being a rough way to end the season:
Yeah. The bottom line is that we just didnt step up and play the last three games. We were in a very good position to even take the number one spot and we lost three in a row. In those three loses it came down to a lack of execution and not rebounding. We had 21 turnovers and they had 23 points off of our turnovers and we got out rebounded again. Thats been the story.

On losing the lead in the first half:
Turnovers. We had 13 in the first half and I think we had four in a row to let them right back in the game.

    On Dawn Staley:
She is the leader of our team. Shes the heart and soul of our team. She actually played a good game. She had a knee injury but she played through it. We need more people like her.

    Sting Guard Dawn Staley

    On the loss:
It was a pretty tough one.

On having an up and down season:
I hate losing more than anythingwell see them again next year. Well be ready next year.
