Michelle Snow of the Houston
Comets checked in to answer some questions from her WNBA.com Playoffs Mailbox.
Here's what she had to say during the Comet's first round series against the Seattle
Q. FIRST OFF, LOVED YOU @ TENNESSEE. SECOND HUGE FAN
OF YOU, SHERYL, TINA AND JANETH. QUESTION --- DO YOU THINK THAT THE COMETS WILL
TAKE IT ALL THIS YEAR? HUGE TENNESSEE AND COMETS FAN!!!!!!!!!!
Snow and the Comets returned to the postseason after missing out in '04.|
SNOW: "Yes. if we remain focused and continue to play together, we have everything
needed for a championship run."
Q. Hey, ur one of my favorite players
ever! but i need some advice.... i play for my high school and this year i have
to play center and power forward. Now last year i was a power forward and that
not the problem, the problem is i'm about 5'8'' and have to be a center. can you
give me some tips on focusing for on that cause i'm excitied about doin something
new but i don't want to make a fool about myself on the court.... i do that enough
off the court lol. so any advice is good thanks and keep playing like the amazing
player that you are.
SNOW: "Your height is an advantage
against other players. You can face them up in the post and short corner and use
your speed to go around them. On defense, you can also use your speed to get steals."
How was it playing for Pat Summit? Is she ever nice?
Summitt is very nice and caring. She developed our mental and physical game (basketball).
She also developed us into productive women who excel in life...100% graduation
Q. Michelle, do you think or will you try to dunk the ball
in the playoffs since you didn't in the regular season? I know you can do it-
"If I could get a dollar for every time I get this question, I wouldn't have
to play basketball...LOL. Honestly, I don't know. Only God knows."
Hey girl, I was just wondering how you feel going into the playoffs against the
defending champs. Go Comets! Pearland, Houston we all family. Good luck in the
playoffs! I'm ready to see another WNBA Champions banner and a NBA one too.
"Different season and a new team. The (Seattle) team that won last year is
very different from this year's team. Our team is also very different with only
four returning players. The team with the most heart will win."
Throughout the season. I was wondering, being that you are an up and coming STAR
in the WNBA how does it feel to play with the Olympians on your team? Do you feel
extra pressure to preform at the top level with them playing around you? Good
Luck in the Playoffs!!
SNOW: "Playing with Olympians is
very demanding. It leaves little room for error, but if you're up to the challenge,
you can learn a lot while developing amongst the best to ever pay the game. It's
not pressure, but an opportunity."
Q. Michelle, I would just like
to say that your game has really gone to another level. You are one of the most
exciting players to watch, you can tell that you have a lot of heart! I have been
to all the Comets game and I have to say last night against L.A. all of you were
sensational. If you keep that kind of momentum going into the playoffs on Tuesday
no one will be able to touch you. How excited are to go to the playoffs for the
first time, are you nervous or on cloud nine?
-Fan from Houston
"Going into the playoffs, I am very focused. There's no time to be nervous.
You'll get beat by the veteran or experienced teams (if nervous). Excitement leads
to satisfaction with making it and a focus to win. Cloud nine comes when you hold
up the championship trophy."
