    On Sunday 8/1 vs. Connecticut Cappie Pondexter surpassed the 3,000 point mark for her career and became the second fastest WNBA player to accomplish the feat in terms of games, having done so in her 154th game (behind only Taurasi, 151 games). At 27 years, 206 days old today as of Aug. 1, she also became the third youngest player in WNBA history to reach the mark (behind the Seattle Storm�s Lauren Jackson, who reached the plateau in 2006 at 25 years and 27 days, and Taurasi, who did so in 2008 at 26 years and 28 days).

    On Tuesday 8/3 vs. NYL, Tamika Catchings registered the 700th steal of her career and became just the second player in WNBA history to achieve this milestone. The L.A. Sparks' Ticha Penicheiro reached 700+ steals earlier this season. Catchings's first assist of the night was the 1,000th of her career and made her the first player in WNBA history with 1,000 assists and 2,000 rebounds in a career.

    Lauren Jackson, already named Western Conference Player of the Month in both May and June, won the award for the month of July -- the third consecutive month she has won it. In addition, Jackson has been named Player of the Week five times thus far in 2010, which ties her own mark for the most Player of the Week awards in a single season. She owns the WNBA career record for Player of the Week honors with 19.

Four games remain at home � the undefeated home streak is still alive and they would become the first team to go undefeated at home during a season. The Storm were also undefeated during the month of July.

    With the 12th win, the Storm secured the No. 1 overall seed in the Western Conference and home-court advantage through two playoff rounds. (If the Storm were to post the overall best record in the league this year, it would mark the first time in franchise history that they entered the post-season as the No. 1 seed).
