Mystics Overseas
Matee Ajavon is currently playing in Ankara, Turkey. Ajavon has spent the last few off-seasons playing for different Turkish teams, and is now playing for a team called Optimum Ted Ankara Kolejliler with fellow Mystic DeMya Walker.
April 13 Update: Ajavon averaged 11.9 ppg for Ankara who finished the season 8-14. She also led the team with 1.7 steals per game. Ajavon was first on the team in Eurocup play at 13.4 ppg where the team ended the Eurocup regular season first in their group but were knocked out in the first round of the playoffs by Slovakian side MBK Ruzomberok.
Dominique Canty - Istanbul, Turkey
Dominique Canty is currently playing for Istanbul University.
April 13 Update: Istanbul University missed the playoffs but Canty averaged a very solid 13.6 ppg and 4.2 assists per game which was good for 8th in the league.
Monique Currie - Antakya, Turkey
Monique Currie has joined Turkish team Homend Antakya (and new Mystics teammate Laura Harper) midway through their 2011-12 campaign. She joins four other Mystics already playing in Turkey.
April 13 Update: Antakya just made the playoffs as the 8th and final seed but were eliminated in the first round by Fenerbahce. Currie led the team and was 10th in the league with 16.6 ppg. She was also third on the team with 5.6 boards per game.
Kerri Gardin - Israel
Kerri Gardin is currently playing in Israel for Bnot Hasharon. It is her second stint there as she also played with Elizur MacLaren Holon last year in Israel.
April 13. Update: Bnot Hasharon are 10-10 thus far in Israel's D1 and Gardin is second on the team in points and first on the team and fifth in the league in boards averaging 13.4 and 10.4 per game.
Laura Harper - Antakya, Turkey
Laura Harper is currently playing in Antakya, Turkey with new Mystics teammate Monique Currie.
April 13 Update: Antakya just made the playoffs as the 8th and final seed but were eliminated in the first round by Fenerbahce. Harper was second on the team in scoring with 13.3 ppg and led the team and is sixth in the league with 9.8 rebounds per game. She also led the team and was ninth in the league with 1 block per game.
Natasha Lacy - Ceyhan, Turkey
Natasha Lacy is currently playing in Ceyhan, Turkey with new Mystics teammate Ashley Walker.
April 13 Update: Ceyhan made the playoffs as the 7th seed with Lacy leading them with an MVP type season, but they were eliminated in the first round by Galastasaray. Lacy led the team and was 5th in the league with 18.4 ppg. She also led the league in both assists and steals with 7.5 assists per game and 3.3 steals per game. Finally she added 7.3 rebounds per game.
Crystal Langhorne - Moscow, Russia
Crystal Langhorne has joined Dynamo Moscow midway through their campaign.
April 13 Update: Dynamo Moscow entered the playoffs as the number 7 seed with Langhorne leading the way but were eliminated in the first round, 2 game to 1 by Spartak Moscow. Langhorne was nothing short of the best player in the league as she led the league in both scoring and rebounding at 22.1 points per game and 10.3 rebounds per game. She was the only player in the league to average a double-double.
Jasmine Thomas - Brno, Czech Republic
Jasmine Thomas is currently playing in Brno, Czech Republic for Frisco Brno. They compete in both the Czech Republic league and the Euroleague. You can read all about Thomas' journey overseas as she continues to blog about her life abroad.
April 13 Update: Jasmine Thomas has returned home after Frisco Brno was bounced from the Czech playoffs. She averaged 12.7 points, 4.8 rebounds and a team leading 2.3 assists during league play. Thomas also led the team in scoring and assists in Euroleague play at 11.1 and 2.7 per game where they were knocked out after group play.
Michelle Snow - Kursk, Russia
MIchelle Snow is currently playing for Dynamo Kursk in Russia.
April 13 Update: Dynamo Kursk entered the playoffs as the number 3 seed and took down Spartak Noginsk in the first round and now have a date with Spartak Moscow in the semis. Snow is averaging a team second best 13.3 ppg and third best 5.8 rpg.
Noelle Quinn - Botas, Turkey
Noelle Quinn is currently playing for Botas in the Turkish League.
April 13 Update: In the Turkish league Quinn averaged 9.7 ppg and Botas entered the playoffs as the number 5 seed but were eliminated in the first round by Mersin. Botas lost in the semis of the Eurocup and Quinn averaged 4.2 ppg, 3.8 rpg and 1.2 apg over 6 games.
Ashley Walker - Ceyhan, Turkey
Ashley Walker is currently playing in Ceyhan, Turkey with new Mystics teammate Natasha Lacy.
April 13 Update: Ceyhan made the playoffs as the 7th seed but lost in the first round to Galatasaray. Walker averaged 17 ppg, which was 8th in the league, and 8.2 rpg, both good for second on the team. She was also 5th in the league in steals with 2 per game.
