Mystics Raise Over $34,000 In Post Game Auction
Washington, D.C. � The Washington Mystics and Sibley Memorial Hospital partnered for the fourth consecutive year for the team�s annual Breast Health Awareness game. A live auction followed the contest featuring the Mystics and the Phoenix Mercury this past Sunday at Verizon Center and over $34,000 was raised. Proceeds of the auction benefited the Sullivan Center for Breast Health at Sibley Memorial Hospital. In the last four years, the Mystics have helped raise over $180,000 for the hospital.
�Our Breast Health Awareness Game and annual jersey auction is one of our most important initiatives of the year,� Mystics Chief Operating Officer Greg Bibb stated. �Every dollar raised goes directly to the Sullivan Center to help women with breast cancer. While the auction is fun, we are most pleased to be able to provide meaningful dollars to combat this terrible disease. We are proud to work with Sibley to make a difference.�
Arlene Snyder, President of the Sibley Memorial Hospital Foundation, praised the team�s commitment and enthusiasm. �We are so grateful to be in partnership with the Washington Mystics,� she said. Items auctioned included a team autographed-basketball, autographed pink jerseys by Marissa Coleman and Crystal Langhorne as well as a trip to the Women�s Basketball Hall of Fame Ceremony. .
