    Overall thoughts on the game:
“Tough night. We obviously did not shoot the ball well at all. I think we are physically and mentally tired. With three games in four days with a short bench, I think that makes it kind of tough. Having said that, I’m disappointed that we didn’t come out and compete and do the little things that we needed to do in order to stay in the game. We turned the ball over early and missed some makeable shots. We didn’t set screens and didn’t box out, so all that makes for a long night.”

    On Monique Currie’s performance:
“We had her at the Atlanta game here, we didn’t have her at the game there. And she played this game, so it’s just us trying to put the pieces together and learn each other. But it’s really good to see what she brings and to give the players an opportunity to play with her.”

    Overall thoughts on the game:
“I think we did a terrible job. We didn’t come out and fight. We let them do whatever they wanted to do for the entire game, so disappointed in that.”

    Adjustments for next opponent, Indiana:
“We just want to finish the season on a high note, just to compete. We know we are not going to make the playoffs, but we all are competitors and we want to win. Hopefully we can turn things around and finish the season strong.”

    Overall thoughts on the game:
“Just disappointing. To play like that on your home court and on your last home game, we just expect better of ourselves. We didn’t perform tonight.”

    Adjustments for next opponent, Indiana:
“The last time we played there, it was a tough game against them. Actually, pretty similar to how we played tonight. Just to come out strong, we had a few bad starts recently and we just want to start off strong defensively and offensively.“

    Mystics at a glance:
    Points: Monique Currie - 13
    Rebounds: Kerri Gardin -10
    Assists:Jasmine Thomas, Kelly Miller - 2
    Steals: Currie- 3

    Overall thoughts on game:
“We did what we needed to do. We played a team that was obviously very tired, this was Washington’s third game in about ninety hours, but we’ve had those games too. Can’t feel sorry for the other team but what I thought we did really well was get into them defensively and make it uncomfortable for them a rhythm on their offense and our defense I thought led to our offense. We got offensive boards, obviously Tina [Charles] stats said she was pretty efficient tonight but I thought as a team we did a good job of moving the ball and we played great defense.”

On preparation to compete in playoffs:
“Right now I’ll worry about the playoffs once we get there. We are using each of these games to try and get a little bit better. We need one more win and one Atlanta loss to clinch second and we are still chasing Indiana. Hopefully somebody will help us out and give us an opportunity but now we are just putting it on ourselves to make sure that we are better today than we were yesterday and tomorrow we will be better than we were today.”

    On battling the Mystics’ defense:
“I think we just went out and executed everything that coach wanted us to do, especially coming to this game and just focusing on little things going into the playoffs.”

On the key to tonight’s win:
“Our defense, I’ll say just collectively how we played , just limiting certain players shots especially (Crystal) Langhorne who gets them going, so that helped.”

On the key to tonight’s win:
“I think the key was definitely team defense. I think that we played together on defense, had each others’ back and just locked in what they were doing, taking away plays and stuff like that.”

On taking advantage of early lead in the first quarter:
“I think our defense led to the offense. We were able to get the ball inside, we were able to knock down some shots and getting the ball inside just opens it up for everyone on the outside, so I think we did a good job of that.”

    Sun at a glance:
    Points:Tina Charles - 24
    Rebounds: Charles - 15
    Assists: Renee Montgomery - 7
