Mystics Release Coco Miller

Washington, D.C. –General Manager Angela Taylor announced today the team has released guard Coco Miller. A graduate of the University of Georgia, Miller was selected by the Washington Mystics in the first round (9th overall) in the 2001 WNBA draft.

“Coco has been a tremendous asset to the Washington Mystics organization over the past eight seasons. It was with great difficulty that we decided to waive her. As we finalize our training camp roster, we are very confident in our depth at the guard/wing position therefore it is necessary to assess players at other positions,” said Taylor. “A fan favorite, Coco is the consummate professional who has earned the respect of her teammates, coaches, and peers around the league for her tireless work ethic and competitive spirit. We sincerely thank her for her contributions to this organization over the years and wish her continued success throughout the remainder of her professional career.”

In 2002, Miller was named the league’s most improved player after averaging 9.3 points per game, 3.6 rebounds per game and 2.6 assists per game. She has spent her entire WNBA career with the Mystics and has averaged 6.3 points per game and 2.4 rebounds per game in the last eight years.

"I really enjoyed my years in Washington playing in front of the best fans in the WNBA. I'm going to miss the city and my teammates," said Miller.
