Open Mic:

On tonight’s game:

“I think our team played really well tonight. I think our turnovers really hurt us especially in the first half because Indiana came out and trapped a lot and they were very aggressive. I think that we could have handled that a little bit better by getting the ball out of the traps but we adjusted in the second half. I give our team credit because we really competed. Indiana is a veteran team and they are an eastern conference finals team and we really competed with them.”

Friendly Foes

Mystics forwards Crystal Langhorne and Marissa Coleman will meet up with Kristi Toliver from the Chicago Sky. The highly-anticipated reunion between the former University of Maryland Terrapins teammates will be nationally televised on ESPN2 at 7:00p.m. on Thursday.

Grand Larceny

The Mystics are second in the WNBA in steals per game averaging 9.79 per contest. Through 14 games this season, Alana Beard ranks third in the WNBA in steals per game (2.64). In their previous win over the Los Angeles Sparks, Beard captured four steals. In 2008, the Mystics only averaged 7.1 steals per game and finished the season ranked 12th in the league in that category.

Board Work

This season the Mystics have proven to be hard on the offensive glass. Last year the team ranked 7th overall in offensive boards per game. So far this season the Mystics are currently ranked third with an average of 10.5 offensive rebounds per game.
