WNBA partners with Ticketmaster in league-wide initiative

Phoenix Mercury Single-Game Tickets On Sale Now

Updated: April 5, 2007

Basketball fans now have the opportunity to purchase single-game tickets for the Phoenix Mercury’s 11th season. The single-game ticket sale launch coincided with the WNBA draft in which the Mercury traded their No. 1 pick for veteran center Tangela Smith.

The Mercury season will be packed with fun themed nights and exciting giveaways. 5,000 Diana Taurasi replica jerseys will be given away during the home opener on Saturday, May 19 courtesy of the Arizona Lottery. “Daddy's Date Night” was a great success in 2006 and has been extended to four Fridays throughout the season (5/25, 6/22, 7/6, 7/20), each hosted by various local celebrities. The Mercury will also launch the “Fridays and Family” pack, which includes tickets, hot dogs, sodas and t-shirts for groups of four or more.

The WNBA partners with Ticketmaster in this league-wide initiative. Tickets may be purchased at the US Airways Center box office, online at www.phoenixmercury.com, www.ticketmaster.com/mercury or by calling 602.252.WNBA. All seats are in the US Airways Center lower level and start at $10. A limited number of season ticket packages are still available. In addition to the season tickets, a 9-game weekend package is also available as well as a "My Game Plan" package that allows fans to pick the games they would like to attend.

Winners of a franchise-high seven straight to finish 2006, the Phoenix Mercury look to pick up where they left off led by All-Stars Diana Taurasi and Cappie Pondexter in the record-shattering offense of head coach Paul Westhead. Under the direction of new general manager Ann Meyers Drysdale and owners of the No. 1 overall pick in the 2007 WNBA Draft presented by adidas, the Mercury open their 11th WNBA season on Saturday, May 19 at 7:00 PM at US Airways Center against the San Antonio Silver Stars.
