Mercury Draft Pick Pringle Recovering From Knee Surgery
Phoenix Mercury forward/center LaToya Pringle had minor surgery on her left knee this morning, the club announced today.
“We’ve known the situation with Latoya’s knee for some time now,” said Mercury General Manager Ann Meyers Drysdale. “We selected her because we knew she would be a contributor in the long run of our season. Her surgery was minor and we’ve got a great trainer on staff in Tamara Poole, who will assist in her rehab. We are excited to get her back in training camp when she is ready.”
Pringle is expected to rehabilitate for approximately two weeks in North Carolina. She will join the team at training camp in Phoenix as soon as possible.
The 6-3 Nuremberg, Germany native led her team in field goal percentage (.584, 174-of-298) and in shots blocked (95, 2.7 per game) in her senior season. Pringle started 35 of the team’s 36 games and was second in scoring, averaging 14.6 per game.
