The following updates include games played through December 17, 2012.
Krystal Thomas – Jiangsu Phoenix (China): Having won six games in a row, Thomas and the Jiangsu Phoenix are now fourth place in the WCBA at 9-6. They picked up a win on Dec. 11 against Yunnan (96-77) with Thomas’ 21 points and 16 rebounds. On Dec. 15, they beat Liaoning 84-81 behind an 18 point, 12 rebound game from Thomas. The Machine is now averaging 15 points and 15 rebounds per game for her Chinese club.
Charde Houston – Maccabi Ashdod (Israel): Houston and Maccabi Ashdod remain undefeated at 6-0 in the Israeli League. On Dec. 10, they beat Galil Elion 83-74. Houston has 20 points, 11 rebounds and five steals in the win. To date, Houston is averaging 17 points, 6.8 rebounds, 2.6 steals and shooting 53.8 percent from the floor.
Sammy Prahalis – Prahalis has left Israel for family reasons.
DeWanna Bonner – Nadezhda Orenburg (Russia): Bonner and Nadezhda had a tough week of games. First, they fell 77-67 against Good Angels Kosice. Bonner had 11 points, eight rebounds and four assists in the loss. Then, she faced Mercury teammate Diana Taurasi’s UMMC club and lost 84-64. Still, Bonner currently averages 16.9 points, 11.4 rebounds (second in the EuroLeague) and three assists per game for her Russian club.
Candice Dupree – Spartak (Russia): Dupree played her best game overseas this season against Tarsus (Delisha Milton-Jones, Danielle Robinson) picking up 27 points and 10 rebounds on 10-16 shooting in the 83-79 win. However, against an incredibly tough Dynamo K. team of Temeka Johnson, Epiphanny Prince and Michelle Snow, Spartak lost 76-55 on Dec. 16. Dupree is averaging 16 points and 7.3 rebounds for Spartak while shooting 60 percent from the floor (second in the EuroLeague).
Diana Taurasi – UMMC Ekaterinburg (Russia): Still undefeated, Taurasi and UMMC beat Mercury teammate DeWanna Bonner’s Nadezhda Orenburg 84-64 on Dec. 15. Perhaps more amazing, Taurasi continued to show her unrivaled versatility by tallying 22 points (including five made 3-pointers) and 13 assists in the win. Taurasi is averaging 16.8 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 4.7 assists per game for UMMC this season. As a special added bonus, if you want to see DT3 sing “Jingle Bells” in Russian, click here.
Lynetta Kizer – KB Stars (South Korea): On Dec. 12, Kizer and the KB Stars fell to the S-Birds 80-71. Kizer had eight points and nine rebounds in the loss. They bounced back on Dec. 16 with a 62-54 win over Bichumi behind Kizer’s double-double of 12 points and 12 rebounds. Follow Kizer on Twitter here.
