For Mercury forward Candice Dupree, fitting in with her new team did not take long. After spending the first four seasons of her WNBA career in Chicago, Dupree enjoyed a solid 17-point, 10-rebound debut against the Sparks on Opening Night.

Since that time she has enjoyed a number of solid contributions for Phoenix, including a 9-for-9 performance against the Shock on May 25 and Fridayís 19-point, 11-rebound outing against the Silver Stars. caught up with the leagueís current leader in field goal percentage and found out from the forward why the best may be yet to come. First off, can you talk about how youíre feeling now having played about a dozen games in a Mercury jersey compared to where you were when the season first began?

Candice Dupree: Iím definitely a lot more comfortable in our system both offensively and defensively. I feel Iíve come a long way from the start of the season but understand that there are still some adjustments that I would like to see made. What has maybe been the most difficult adjustment for you?

Dupree: I knew coming in there would obviously be a lot of running, but it was more than I expected. I came into camp feeling I was in shape and everything but youíre never in the right shape for this style of basketball until youíre actually doing it in camp and in games, so that has been the biggest adjustment for me so far. How are you enjoying the city of Phoenix itself after having only played in the WNBA with Chicago?

Dupree: Coming from a big city like Chicago, there isnít much in downtown Phoenix to do, but Iíve made it out and have had fun checking out the different restaurants, going to the mall and stuff like that. When not enjoying the city, how much are you enjoying your time with the team?

Dupree: Iím having a great time. The organization is great, the people within the organization are great and the people in the city of Phoenix have been great. Everybody has just been very welcoming as a whole and Iím enjoying the experience. Finally, looking ahead, do you have any individual goals youíve set for yourself heading forward?

Dupree: The goal is to win a championship. Thatís the goal for everybody on this team and I know we started off the season a little rough but weíre getting better. We just need to continue progressing with every game.
