Mercury First to Offer Mobile Ticketing in Valley

PHOENIX - In a continuous effort to stay at the forefront of modern technology, the Phoenix Mercury has launched a mobile ticketing option that makes it the first team in the WNBA, and first team in Arizona, to offer the convenient service to fans. Fans that purchase any Mercury single-game ticket through Ticketmaster, beginning with Sunday’s matchup against the Minnesota Lynx, will now have an opportunity to receive those tickets directly to their mobile device.

“Everything we do is with the fan experience and fan convenience in mind,” said Amber Cox, Mercury president and COO. “This new technology allows us to stay cutting edge, increase efficiency and decrease fan wait times at US Airways Center. We are excited to be the first in the WNBA to offer fans this option.”

To take advantage of the new technology, fans must download the Ticketmaster app to their iPhone or Android device. Once signed into the application, fans will be able to view all Mercury tickets they have purchased through Ticketmaster and ultimately have the tickets scanned at entry to US Airways Center. In addition, fans will have the convenience of managing their ticket purchases directly from their mobile advice, offering them the option to forward their tickets to friends and family if necessary.

In conjunction with the mobile ticketing rollout, the Mercury has also adopted the use of Apple’s Passbook application, providing all iPhone users the opportunity to upload their tickets to their digital wallet.
