With an 89-71 win over the Storm Tuesday night, the Mercury (19-3) won their 13th game in a row and clinched the first playoff spot in the 2014 WNBA postseason.

The Mercury's 13-game win streak is the third longest winning streak in WNBA history.

Diana Taurasi scored 22 points to lead the Mercury while fellow All-Stars Candice Dupree and Brittney Griner added 19 and 17 respectively.

Amazingly, per Mercury Basketball Communications Manager John Steinmiller, the Mercury trailed for just 44 seconds in Tuesday's game. During the 13-game winning streak, Phoenix has led 80.8% of the time (419:58 of a possible 520:00).

The Mercury have now won by double digits in 13 of their 19 wins and own a league-high point differential of +10.41 points per game. In WNBA history, 15 of the 17 WNBA champions have led the league in scoring differential (the other two champions had the second-highest differential).

Phoenix also has the highest-scoring offense (85.73) and second-best scoring defense (75.32). In 2012 and 2013 combined, the Mercury had a total of six double-digit wins. Eight of their 13 wins during the current streak have been by double digits.

The Mercury continues their road trip in Los Angeles on Thursday, July 24 at 7:30 p.m.

Shay Murphy's production off the bench. Murphy came in to score nine points on 4-of-6 shooting in 19 minutes. More importantly, her effort on the defensive end was a spark for the team when Seattle got close.

Diana Taurasi was on fire from the floor scoring 22 points on 8-of-10 shooting to go along with six assists and five rebounds.

22 - the number of Storm turnovers compared to just 10 by the Mercury. Ball movement and control was a major factor, especially in the second half.
